Yes… I am slow like a snail and loves sitting on my butt. Here’s finishing up the sharing of the images taken at the JSP workshop… I think I will blog about my Japan trip after this.
I would like to extend the warmest congratulations to Derrick & Wan Leng who are getting married today (26 February 2011) ! 真是天作之合的一对！
Besides Edwin and Eeva, I also had the honor to work with Derrick and Wan Leng. A real live couple who are going to get married in Feb, how romantic is that! Derrick and Wan Leng were our second set of couple for the morning’s demonstration shoot with Jenny and they were also the assigned couple to my team, Team 2.
Which kinda make things a little bit earlier since 23 of us has crowded in their faces and snapped them crazily in the morning so what’s the big deal with 8 photographers now? Totally different in style to the younger and more playful Edwin and Eeva, Derrick and Wan Leng at first appeared to be a more dignified and elegant couple but as we chatted with them, we discover this couple, despite their initial demeanor, has a fun and quirky side to them as well. Derrick is an engineer and Wan Leng is an auditor and theirs’ is a love marathon from school days. Derrick said it was Wan Leng’s smile which attracted him initially and Wan Leng liked Derrick for being stable and reliable.
I hope I’ve managed to capture a little bit of the essence of their love story.
Morning Demonstration Session
This was actually the 1st formal photography workshop that I have attended. I was initially hesitant because I was not sure I was ready or wanted to make my way down the path of being a wedding photographer but the opportunity was simply too good to miss.
Jenny Sun is a talented wedding photographer based in Sydney, Australia and KL, Malaysia. Jenny has established her own unique and beautiful vintage themed pre-wedding shooting style and she is also very well known for her sun flare halo shoots of lovely couples. Check out her blog.
It was an intensive 3 days workshop at Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore and it was cool getting to know another 22 people with the same passion and zeal in photography even though we came from different countries and had different backgrounds. Some are already in the business, some are students, some weekend warriors and some like me – contemplating. I am sure everyone had different take-aways from these 3 days but whatever it maybe it was sure great way to spend 3 days and this blog is one of the results.
The following photos were taken at the Jenny Sun’s “JSP Inside Out Workshop” in Singapore on Jan 2011 by me during our group and individual photography session.
Edwin & Ee-va were the 1st couple we meet for our morning demonstration session on the 2nd day. They are a real-life couple and while not in any hurry to get married, these two were so much fun to work with and not shy in front of the camera despite having more than 20 cameras aimed at them like paparazzi. Ee-va is vivacious and her bright, vibrant personality really shines through. Edwin while appearing to be quieter can be quite the joker too.
